Round Table is Open on The Square

22 Oct

I walked by Round Table tonight (located in the former location of Ghost Solder at 132 Courthouse Square) and was a bit surprised to find that the doors were open and patrons were happily gathered at the restaurant’s namesake round table partaking of the new restaurant’s Southern fare, which consists of items such as pimento cheese sandwiches; country fried steak; pork chops; meat w/two sides plates and desserts provided by Eat Sassy.

Kitchen hours are Monday to Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

UPDATE 11/14: Plate Lunches and Breakfast come to Round Table.

I had a very good lunch here, and the prices were very reasonable. There were plenty of people in the restaurant, but it was a bit quiet for a lunch – some background music would’ve been nice. I see a lot of people have compared it to AJax. AJax has the best plate lunch in town, but the prices have gotten a bit ridiculous.

I was hoping to see a traditional “Round Table” concept with the food on the tables, however, there is only one “round table” and you still order off the main menu unlike most restaurants of this concept. My food was good with the exception of what seemed to be yesterdays leftovers desguised as succotash. I think the little diner has a chance to make it with some simple changes to some menu items and maybe rethink what a “Round Table” style dining experience is all about. Best Wishes! Mrs. N

Obviously the owner or owners care nothing about this place as a restuarant. The menu is a joke. The food is not worthy of a truck stop. Obviously the cook is not schooled. Cute waitress talked too much. Price is ok. Diamonds painted on wall cool. Patio good. Didn’t see upstairs. Need sign outside.

I AGREE THAT THE MENU NEEDS WORK GET THE BREAKFAST ON THE MENU AND IT WILL BE A HIT ALL DAY LONG

I DON’T LIKE NOT HAVING MORE THAN ONE OPTION FOR A MEAT AT LUNCH AND THE OTHER ITEMS ARE SO LIMITED THEY MAY AS WELL NOT BE ON THERE. IF YOUR’RE GONNA DO SOMETHING AND DO IT WELL DECIDE WHAT IT IS

YOU CAN’T DO EVERYTHING HALF WAY AND DO ANYTHING RIGHT

MY OPINION PLATE LUNCH, A FEW GOOD SANDWICHES AND BREAKFAST DROP THE REST

THE OTHER THING WAS THE STAFF NEEDS TO STEP IT UP HAVE FUN WHILE YOU WORK IT DOESNT MAKE ME WANT TO COME BACK IF YOURE GRIPING ABOUT A RUDE COWORKER OR THAT YOUR RESTAURANT IS STILL WORKING THROUGH THE MOTIONS

THIS PLACE HAS THE POTENTIEL TO BE A COOL HOT SPOT

I had lunch at the Round Table today. I liked the diner feel but feels a bit unfinished. Had someone other than a college student wait on me and that was nice. The meat on the plate lunch was chicken spaghetti and so i skipped that and ordered the country fried steak. Good, nicely seasoned. I think they need more on the menu if they want to compete with Ajax. Appetizer list too was small. The evening entrees were not listed so I’m not sure about that. I had heard they were going to have breakfast all day. Disappointed to not even see it on the menu. The Square could def use a breakfast hot spot. I’m sure they have kinks to work out. A bit of advice, get the menu right. Need more sandwiches like a reuben or club. I didn’t like my choices being so limited. Overall though – it was good.
