Planning for Valentine’s Day

12 Feb

If you’re a last-minute planner like a lot of the people I know, there are still some opportunities left to make reservations for Monday night.

Several restaurants in town are offering special menus for Valentine’s Day, and a couple of places that aren’t normally open on Mondays are graciously opening to help you make an impression on your significant other.

Sunday, February 13th

Castle Hill Resort & Club is offering a special Valentine’s dinner on Sunday, featuring an appetizer, salad, and entree of an 8 oz. filet topped with gulf shrimp and creole cream sauce.

Monday, February 14th

Waltz on the Square will be offering a “Couples Cuisine” day, which will include entrees that serve two or the option to pair two dishes to be shared. Special Valentine’s Day desserts will also be available.

Ravine, which is normally closed on Mondays, will be open and taking reservations.

Round Table on The Square is offering a special menu for Valentine’s Day, which will include items such as poached grouper with butternut squash risotto and strawberry shortcake with homemade whipped cream.

Palmer Adams is opening Palmer’s on Monday for all those Valentine steak lovers. (236-2788)

In addition to its regular menu, Boure has organized a Chef’s Tasting for Two, which will include items such as fried oyster salad, beef tenderloin and wine pairings.

Toyo Oxford has three Valentine’s Day dinner packages for patrons to choose from—two sushi and one hibachi.

Sweets for Your Sweet

If you’re searching for something sweet, drop by and pick up some chocolate-covered strawberries or other confections from Holli’s Sweet Tooth, Honey Bee Bakery, Lusa Pastry Cafe, Chaney’s Pharmacy, Olivia’s Food Emporium or Bottletree Bakery.

Yum! Where’s Lusa Pastry Cafe? I don’t think I’ve heard of that, but I feel like it’s somewhere I need to visit!

Lusa’s is at 1120 N. Lamar. If you’re ever looking for a restaurant, just go to EatingOxford.com; addresses, phone numbers and menus are all there for you when you click “Oxford Restaurant Guide.”
