EatingOxford.com Exceeds 100,000 Visitors

The following press release went out today. Thank you to all of the readers that keep the site going strong!

Oxford, MS, February 27, 2011:  When EatingOxford.com went live in November of 2009, offering a comprehensive list of the restaurants in and around Oxford, along with a regularly updated blog that keeps locals in tune with what’s going on around town, it filled a void for food lovers, and its popularity quickly grew. To date, more than 100,000 visitors have come to read nearly 300 posts on the EatingOxford.com blog (http://blog.eatingoxford.com), helping to move it up the ranks to No.1 blog in Mississippi on Urbanspoon.com and keep it there for more than a year.

The site recently ranked as a Favorite Local Website during a poll conducted by local newspaper The Local Voice, and site owner Liz Barrett is hoping to win as a Best of Oxford website in the current poll being conducted by The Oxford Eagle.

Barrett, a foodservice magazine editor-in-chief by trade, says that EatingOxford.com is her way of giving back to the community while continuing to enjoy one of her favorite pastimes. “I already dine out a lot, and I always have my eyes and ears open to what’s going on in the local food scene,” she says. “It just makes sense to share the information I pick up along the way.”
