Pro Football Star Opens Oxford Restaurant

14 Aug

Former Ole Miss football player Kendrick Clancy, who went on to play for the Giants, Cardinals, Saints and Steelers, is now gearing up for an entirely new game—the restaurant business.

When I stopped by the future location of Kendrick Clancy’s Locker Room Grill & Bar today, which is between Chow Tyme and IHOP on Jackson Avenue, construction was well underway. Management told EatingOxford.com that the restaurant should be open by the end of the month; definitely by the first Ole Miss home game against BYU on September 3rd.

UPDATE 10/18: The Locker Room is now open!

We want to send our apologies to everyone who experienced bad service and was not satisfied with the food. We have been opened for a week and continuously working hard to better our business to provide you with the service, food, and experience that we envisioned and that you all deserve.

    Thank you,
    Owner/Manager

So what’s the deal with this place? I’ve been eagerly awaiting it to open, but it is taking FOREVER. Oxford needs a great sports bar.

It was supposed to open this weekend, but I haven’t heard anything. Let me know if you do. 🙂

If this place is right next door to Chow Tyme, they should cut a service window in the wall and pass ye old ethanol through the window to the bored Chow customers.  This would pay Clancy’s rent every month, and still have enough shekels leftover for a few football bets too.
