Due to unforeseen circumstances, this coming Sunday’s Wild Game & Fish Dinner at Colonel’s Quarters at Castle Hill has been canceled.
All tickets that have already been purchased will be promptly refunded.
Colonel’s Quarters will still be open from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., offering a full menu of country cooking and a full bar for all those still wanting to meander beyond the Square.
EatingOxford.com will be teaming up with several organizations in the coming months for some exciting events! If you want to be one of the first to know about them, email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Special Events”.
Colonel’s Quarters inside Castle Hill Resort is ready for Ole Miss football season with a full line up of bands and specially prepared menus for every Friday night before a home game, which includes September 2, September 9, September 23, October 14, October 21, November 11 and November 21.
Check out all of the menus, complete with a full buffet with chef-attended carving station; pasta, shrimp and potato stations and more here.

If you haven’t gotten a chance to check out the new (new owners) Castle Hill Resort yet, there are a couple of events coming up that sound fun:
- Wednesday, June 30 – Sausage & Beer Tasting, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Sponsored by Lazy Magnolia and LBs. Meat Market, the sausage dishes will include duck, gator, Italian, Hawaiian and boudin. Call 662-234-3735 to reserve space. ($40 per person)
- Wednesday, July 14 – Cigar, Steak & Bourbon Dinner
In addition, the website is now live and you can peruse the full menu (offered Wednesday through Sunday), which includes items such as potato-stuffed lobster tail, blue corn crusted scallops, house-made basil fettuccine, bone-in veal strip and more. The Sunday champagne brunch is also still available.

For a mere $2.5 million, you could own Castle Hill Resort & Restaurant and all of the amenities–including the restaurant–that go along with it. The gorgeous B&B just off Highway 6 that opened around five years ago is now up for sale. The listing states that the sellers are offering attractive owner financing and are open to partnership development deals.
I really hope that whoever takes the property over keeps the restaurant going; there’s an excellent Sunday brunch that I’d hate to see disappear. I also hope for more consistent restaurant hours; I’ve driven out to Castle Hill on more than one occasion during normal operating hours and found the doors locked.

UPDATE 04/10/10: Castle Hill has a new owner and is now named Castle Hill Resort & Club. Dining hours start at 6:00 p.m. with a menu prepared by new chef and native Mississippian Hal Rusk. A Southern-Style Sunday buffet and brunch a la carte will also be available. The new menu has not been made available yet.
